Trail Studs

Don't overlook the importance of Woody's[r ]studs and wearbars in the excitement of purchasing a new snowmobile.

Woody's® studs and support plates combined with Woody's® carbide runners are specifically designed and tested to bring out the best handling on an already great snowmobile. Increased manuverability and a significant increase in the capacity to stop are reasons to install Woody's® studs and runners on your snowmobile. From icy corners to snow packed hills, when you use Woody's® studs and runners, you can rest assured that youre getting high quality-from the first snowmobile ride to the last.

Each of the studs below is designed for a different application, yet they all share the same concept of quality manufacturing to provide reliable control for your snowmobile


The standard all other studs are compared with. A sharp 60[d] carbide tip gives you superb traction and durability on hard-pack snow and ice. Most snowmobilers need added traction, so be serious about it,  buy Gold Digger[r] Traction Master[r] studs. The 5/16"  has a 1" head and the 7mm  has a 7/8" head. Both are through-hardened and heat treated.

Available in 24, 96, 144 and 1000 piece packages that include lock nuts.
Gold Digger® 60° Carbide Traction Master®
The absolutely unique design of four flat sides on the penetration portion of the tough 5/16" shank provides additional contact surface for added acceleration, deceleration and directional control under changing trail conditions. Professional snocross racers love the enhanced controllability the 60[d] carbide tipped Mega-Bite[r] delivers. For trail riding, the Mega-Bite[r] is available in lengths of .875" through 1.450" in package quantities of 24, 96, 144 and 1,000 pieces. For snocross racing, lengths of 1.575" and 1.740" are available in quantities of 24, 96 and 1,000.

This stud is available in 24, 96, 144 and 1,000 piece packages, except the 1.750"  which is available in 96 piece package only. All include lock nuts.
Mega-Bite® 60° Carbide Stud
Woody's combines the advantages of stainless steel with their performance proven designs at a competitive price! The high corrosion resistance allows you to use the Signature Series[tm] in rigorous environments. The stainless steel combined with the 5/16" shank and the 15/16" head of the Signature Series[tm] is resistant to impact even at extreme temperature variations ensuring you a reliable grip on the trail with the 60[d] carbide tip. Available in popular lengths of 1.000", 1.075", 1.175", 1.325" and 1.450" in packages of 24, 48, 96, 144 and 1,000 pieces all containing steel lock nuts.
Signature Series™
This 7mm stud with a 60[d] point and a 7/8" head is effective on hard-pack snow and ice. It is offered in lengths of .875" and 1.000 in a 48 piece package.
60° Degree Steel Traction Master®
The tough and dependable Chisel Tooth[tm] Traction Master[r] is a workhorse. This stud penetrates like a pointed stud but acts like a scooper with a flat surface for traction.

This stud is offered to the trail rider in lengths of 1.075" and 1.325" with a 5/16" shank and a 1" head  in packages of 48. In addition, for competition, Woody's also offers a lighter 7mm with a 7/8" head in lengths of .750" through 1.200". All are available in packages of 48 pieces with lock nuts.
5/16" Steel Chisel Tooth™ Traction Master®
This unique stud design can provide a combination of acceleration, braking and cornering. The Star Stud is .70" in length and available in packages of 24 and 96. 

Star bolts (Part # ANB-3900) are needed to properly install the Six Point Star Stud.

Snowmobile Studding Made Easy!

Traction packages in popular stud lengths in quantities of 96, 102, 108, 144, 153 and 162 studs. Each kit contains the correct number of 5/16" studs, the accurate amount of aluminum support plates and nuts. Big Nuts, ALN2-4500, are included with the stud length 1.325" packages. Ideal for pre-holed tracks. A track marker and track drill are also included if you need to create your own openings in the track. 

Verify and follow the track and  snowmobile manufacturers studding recommendations in your owners manual. Consult your dealer to purchase a Woodys[r] template with a pattern that has the correct amount and placement of studs for your snowmobile.

Grip Kit ™
Woodys Grand Master Stud and Support Plates for Ski-Doo Rev XP and Camoplast Single Ply Tracks. 


Woodys Grand Master is equivalent to BRPs Phantom Stud. 

This larger head stud and resulting larger support plates are now being sold by Woodys under the name Grand Master. This TESTED and OEM APPROVED stud and support plate is designed with a larger 1.200 head to provide a larger anchor to distribute pressure over a wider area on the single ply track. 

The Grand Master will come as a kit complete with studs, nuts and larger round or *square aluminum support plates in two stud lengths, 1.075 with standard nuts and 1.325 with ALN2-4500 Big Nuts.  They are packaged in quantities of 24, 84, 96 and 500.  

Template studding patterns for single ply tracks will be available for 2.52, 2.86 and 3.00 pitch tracks. 


Contact your dealer to determine if you have a single ply track.

*2.52 pitch tracks must use the square aluminum large Digger[r] support plates in the GMPS-1075 or the GMPS-1325.

In the part numbers listed below, the GMPR indicates packages with round support plates, the GMPS indicates packages containing square support plates.
